Australia aren’t a stranger to qualifying for the FIFA World Cup. Their problem is what follows afterwards. Success only seems to go so far for Australia. If they revert back to their old ways in Russia, they might not receive the respect and admiration from their countrymen in the tournaments to come. Like England, Australia show a lot of promise on paper but sometimes, the pressure is too much and clubs takes priority over country for many of the players.
They are heading into the tournament without a manager. Perhaps this might be the change they need in order to create further change and become successful. They should not be underestimated in this tournament as in past campaigns they have caused some shock results to countries that were expected to thrash.
