In order to secure their spot for this year's World Cup tournament Saudi Arabia started off with their foot on the pedal. Securing massive victories over Palestine, Yemen, Singapore, Uzbekistan and Vietnam. These victories were still coming following these large results but in a less dominant fashion.
Most notably, a convincing 1-0 win against Japan as well as a 3-2 win against China PR. With this level of dominance, Saudi Arabia will look to continue this level of form through to their World Cup group stage in hopes to progress through to the Round of 16 and beyond.
Herve Renard has been the manager for Saudi Arabia since 2019 and he is a manager who has felt what it feels like to win a major honour throughout his managerial career. This came in 2015 when he managed Ivory Coast to lift the African Cup of Nations. Therefore, we will understand what is needed to go as far as possible in this year’s World Cup tournament.
Time will tell how well Saudi Arabia performs in this year’s World Cup tournament in Qatar, however, one thing is certain - they will be sure to give everything they have for their nation and their fans.
